    Heather Donahue, AIA

    Principal Architect, Partner

    Heather’s love for design began building at an early age stacking Legos and perusing house plan magazines. Her interest in architecture led to a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Texas Tech University. Having lived and practiced in Oregon, Colorado, and Uganda with her architect husband, she is a licensed architect in Colorado as well as Texas.

    With both residential and commercial design experience, Heather is committed to sustainable design with a special interest in historic sensitivity. After many years as a stay-at-home mom and contract designer/drafter, she returned to full-time employment joining MOD: in 2018 where she quickly became an integral part of the team. Heather currently lives in a three-generation household with her husband, son and mother in Round Rock, Texas where Legos can still be found in abundance.

    Cal Otero

    Design Director, Partner

    Cal has worked on many exciting architectural projects. After graduation, he began his career at a small design studio in Austin before moving to New York City and working as a member of the competition team at the internationally distinguished firm of Rafael Vinoly Architects.

    With over 15 years of experience, Cal has had the opportunity to be part of many notable projects, including the master plan of the NYU Abu Dhabi Campus, Nakheel Tower, Kennedy Center, St. Thomas Performing Arts Center, and the Memorial City Treehouse Project. He has served as a project manager, project designer, and now the Senior Designer at MOD:.

    Ashley Otero

    Director of Finance & Marketing, Partner

    Ashley is a seasoned professional with a wealth of expertise in clinical operations, corporate relations, accounting and finance. With a career spanning over a decade, she has consistently demonstrated leadership and excellence across various roles.

    As the former Vice President of Clinical Operations at an Austin based Biotech Company, she led a team of over 10 employees. Notably, she successfully oversaw the completion of two randomized phase II clinical studies. Ashley was instrumental in navigating a multi-million dollar licensing deal with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, ultimately contributing to the successful completion of clinical studies on behalf of Janssen.

    Ashley also brings a wealth of experience in Corporate Relations, having served as a Corporate Relations Manager. In this capacity, Ashley managed corporate communications and press releases, corporate governance, SEC compliance and documentation, as well as investor relations, and played a crucial role in the Company’s Initial Public Offering in April 2015.

    Throughout her career, Ashley has been recognized for negotiating vendor pricing agreements, implementing streamlined inventory systems, and managing complex financial responsibilities, all of which have contributed to significant cost savings and operational efficiency. Ashley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas State University.
